Zásilkovna opened its14th depot in Nehvizdy, Prague
Zásilkovna, a leading Czech technology and logistics company, has opened a new logistics center in Nehvizdy. The average capacity of the depot is 380,000 shipments shipped per month, in the pre-Christmas season it can increase up to 600,000. The depot area is 4,000 m2, equipped with modern technologies.
The total number of Zásilkovna depots in the Czech Republic is now 14, and the Packeta Group already has 27 throughout Europe. The amount of investment in new distribution centers reached almost 12 million CZK this year. The main goal of increasing the number of logistics depots is to increase the efficiency of pickup and delivery shipments and improve customer service.
The opening of the new depots is part of the year-round preparation of Zásilkovna and the entire Packeta group for the peak of the season – pre-Christmas shopping, and begins basically as soon as the previous season ends. “We did not underestimate the preparations this year either. We have strengthened our call center technologically and personally. We have deployed chatboots and voiceboots, systems with the help of artificial intelligence, and we also help each other with voiceovers. We are gradually recruiting part-time workers. We are also equipping all operations and drivers with new online readers, “adds Jan Čižmar, Operations Director of Zásilkovna.
Packeta also responds, of course, to the worsening pandemic situation. “All our drivers have been trained, they are equipped with masks and disinfectant gels, they know how to protect themselves when delivering parcels, and at the same time they have to respect the preventive measures of customers. All our warehouse workers wear masks and are also equipped with rubberized work gloves. At all workplaces, we pay attention to increased hygiene in the form of antibacterial agents and educational wall announcements,” describes Jan Čižmar. Body temperature is measured in all workplaces with non-contact thermometers. To support collective immunity, vitamin packages are also being distributed to all employees at all depots across Europe.
Packeta also helps to manage pre-Christmas shopping with a dense network of dispensing points. At the end of the year, there will be almost 4,000 more in the Czech Republic, making it the largest network in the Czech Republic. In September, Zásilkovna also launched non-contact self-sufficient Z-BOXes, powered by a solar panel and controlled via a mobile application. By the end of the year, there will be up to 150 of them in the Czech Republic.
Currently, the Packeta group, the owner of Zásilkovna, has a total of 27 depots: 14 in the Czech Republic (Prague – Satalice, Prague – Ruzyně, Nehvizdy, Brno, Ostrava, Olomouc, Liberec, Březhrad, Soběslav, Pardubice, Plzeň, Teplice, Jihlava and Svitavy ), 7 in Slovakia (Bratislava, Žilina, Poprad, Trenčín, Zvolen, Sliač and Nitra), 3 in Hungary (Budapest, Debrecen and Szeged) and Romania (Bucharest, Oradea and Sibiu).
