Erich took over Packeta at the end of March. He characterizes it as a fantastic company with huge potential, as evidenced by his ambition to double the size of the company within the next 5 years. His priority is to make Packeta the best logistics partner for clients and the clear #1 choice for customers when it comes to parcel delivery.
“I was fascinated by Packeta long before I ever thought of working there. The company actually took something that is considered quite an unpleasant service that people suffer through, turned it around, and built a much-loved business on top of it. Instead of going to the post office and standing in line for hours or waiting for a courier that never comes, Packeta created a large network of pick-up points (and later Z-BOXes) where people can pick up their parcels whenever it suits them,” says Erich Čomor.
Choosing Packeta for your parcel delivery? Consider it done.
“Our goal is to always be accessible to our customers without them having to make any detours from their plans—we simply want to be wherever they are. For our e-commerce partners, our online shop clients, we want to provide simple and quick integration and exceptional service. We need to guarantee we have enough distribution capacity during the highest season so that they know they can entrust us with their customers’ parcel deliveries,”explains Erich Čomor.
As part of expanding into foreign markets, Packeta will focus on its distribution network in Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary.
So, who is the new CEO of Packeta?
Fifty-four-year-old Erich Čomor comes from the town of Lučenec in southeastern Slovakia.
He studied at the University of Economics in Prague in the late 1980s, earned an MBA title at the prestigious Kellogg School of Management in the US, and has held a number of management positions in the finance and technology sector.
He started his career at Procter & Gamble, then took the post of Product and Marketing Manager at GE Money, and in 2007 moved to Home Credit where he managed the Czech and Slovakian markets.
After that, he was tasked with building a new bank concept, Air Bank, within PPF Group. He worked for PPF for a total of 10 years.
After a two-year break, his next career challenge came from PPF—to repeat the success of Air Bank on the German market under the Velvon brand. Although this project did not materialize, Čomor remained in Germany and taught German customers how to buy groceries online through Knuspr until the summer of 2023. The came the offer to take over Packeta.
Being wherever our customers are, that’s my priority
Erich Čomor came to Packeta with a clear vision—to expand the network of pick-up points and Z-BOXes as well as improve signature products and skyrocket the overall customer experience. Before joining Packeta, he worked in the online grocery segment where customer satisfaction was always the utmost priority. And, the new CEO now brings this philosophy to Packeta as well.
