Zásielkovňa Changes Its Name to Packeta and Buys the Company ReMax Courier Service
Our Slovak entity Zásielkovňa is undergoing rebranding. Since 10 July, it officially carries the name Packeta Slovakia s. r. o. Another major announcement is that it has become the owner of the company ReMax Courier Service, thus strengthening its position in the market of delivery services in Slovakia.
With the acquisition of the courier company ReMax Courier Service, Packeta Slovakia (Zásielkovňa) will expand its product portfolio to include delivery to address using its own capacities. This will bring even more freedom and flexibility in delivery to Slovak customers. The strategy also includes the expansion of the delivery network in Slovakia to 1,500 pick-up points, 795 Z-Boxes and 400 of its own drivers by the end of the year.
Rebranding of Zásielkovňa
Zásielkovňa, a member of the Packeta Group and the Slovak leader in delivery to pick-up points, is changing its name to Packeta. The reason for the rebranding is to unify the name within the entire group across Europe. “Customers will quickly and clearly recognize us when shopping from any e-shop around the world. At the same time, the unified brand will allow us to benefit from the synergistic effect of marketing cooperation with other countries,” comments Daniel Tinz, COO for CEE & DACH of the Packeta Group, on the name change. The new name will be used by the Slovak Zásielkovňa from 1 July 2021 which will undergo a gradual rebranding by the end of the year.

Zásielkovňa Has Bought the Slovak Courier Company ReMax
The well-known delivery company ReMax Courier Service is changing its owner. Packeta Group becomes the new owner, which also owns the Slovak Zásielkovňa. Legally, the company will operate until the end of this year under the name Packeta Courier Service s.r.o. On 1 January 2022, the acquisition will end with a merger and the business partners will be transferred to Packeta. With the multi-million euro acquisition, Zásilkovna will expand its service portfolio to include its own delivery to address. It will thus become one of the largest players in parcel delivery in the Slovak market.
“The acquisition of ReMax Courier Service is a part of our long-term strategy to expand our portfolio with new services,” said Simona Kijonková, founder of Zásilkovna and CEO of Packeta Group. “I would like to thank the original owners, Mr. and Mrs. Besedič and their daughter, Elena Diaz, for building such a great company with solid pillars on which we can build and lead the company further to greater digitalization towards the e-commerce market,” she added. Packeta’s drivers will be delivering to customers’ addresses in Slovakia as of 1 July 2021. Nothing will change for ReMax’s business partners or the customers themselves. All existing terms and conditions will remain in force until at least 31 December 2021.
Quality Will Be Our Priority
One of the direct advantages is that by introducing its own courier service in Slovakia, Packeta will have a direct impact on the quality, speed and price of parcel delivery. “We want to bring modernization to the delivery to address service by providing the best quality services, so that the customer knows the exact time of delivery to the address, has detailed tracking of the parcel in real time, the possibility to pay by card to each driver or seamlessly change the delivery address to another one or to one of the pick-up points, all within the mobile application,” said Alexander Jančo, CEO of the Slovak entity.
The aim of the planned changes is to bring a high standard of quality, the feedback of which Packeta Slovakia will receive directly from customers who have used their services. Packeta Slovakia would like to launch most of these services during this year. “All these changes are in line with our long-standing values of freedom of delivery and maximum flexibility for our customers,” added Alexander Jančo.
