We Tested Hydrogen as an Energy Source in the Office
Zásilkovna is applying sustainable energy sources, and hydrogen is one of them. Thanks to our cooperation with ÚJV Řež, we are now one of the first companies to test the Power-box 180W – a DC power supply with a hydrogen fuel cell. It has served us to run televisions and computers. We have therefore tested the operation of a similar device in normal working mode.
This year in September, Zásilkovna became a proud member of HYTEP, the Czech Hydrogen Technology Platform. Together with other members, we discuss the possibilities of using hydrogen, even in everyday aspects of life. Therefore, we very much welcomed the opportunity to borrow the so-called hydrogen suitcase from ÚJV Řež and use it for full operation and charging of our office equipment.
The Power-Box Is
• light (9,9 kg) and easily portable
• does not produce emissions
• it is possible to use it inside and outside
• offers quiet and long-lasting operation
The wide range of applications of this hydrogen technology makes it suitable for use. For example, application is possible for rescue services, field hospitals or the army. It can be used as a source of energy for caravans or for camping, but also for powering communication equipment, as we have tried. The “hydrogen suitcase” was designed and built in cooperation with the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague, with which we also cooperated, for example, in the development of our drone for autonomous delivery, which we presented at the ongoing EXPO Dubai.
