More consistent weight and insurance categories from 1 July 2020
We have dedicated the whole of June to an “inventory” of both the weight categories of parcels, where until now the weight limits were set differently for different carriers, as well as the insurance category, where different carriers had different settings. If you are sending shipments abroad with us, you have probably encountered these cases. That is why we have worked on unifying the parameters so that they are as consistent as possible, and sending the goods via Zásilkovna was a bit easier for you.
Unification of weight parameters
The weight scale will be set to 1, 2, 5 and 10 Kg from 1 July 2020. Therefore, your parcels will fall into these categories, each of which has different price conditions. For more information about prices of specific categories please have a look on complete price lists in individual countries or contact your sales representatives.
Great news: For foreign carriers, where transport is significantly more expensive than others (eg French Colissimo), we made an exception and we have left a lower scales of parcels, ie 0.25, 0, 5 and 0.75 kg so that delivery is not so expensive for you and your customers.
Good to know: If you send parcels via a carrier whose weight limit is set at 20 kg, we will respect this and send the 30 kg shipment at the price that the carrier has set for a 20 kg parcel.
Unification of insurance limits
The values of insurance vary significantly from carrier to carrier, so it is not possible to be 100% consistent without having a negative impact on clients. Nevertheless, we have tried to unify the insurance limits as much as possible. If you ship abroad, it again has its advantages:
- if the carrier offers better insurance for the same price, we have replaced the original value with a more advantageous one
- Where it was more convenient for clients, we added a larger range of insurance
- For some carriers, we have enabled clients to insure a shipment at a higher price
Good to know: Somewhere due to the unification of insurance scales will disappear certain insurance limits, for example, in the Ukrainian Nove Poshty it was possible to insure the shipment for an amount in the range of 5000 UAH-5055 UAH. However, insurance at 5055 UAH will no longer be possible.
We want to assure you that we have tried our best to maintain prices. Take a look at the complete price lists in individual countries (or contact your sales representatives), where rates, service prices and all parameters, including unified carrier names, are already updated.
