Dispatch via Password for Parcels Delivered to an Address in the Czech Republic
We have responded to your feedback regarding the verification of the recipient for parcels sent to the address: to increase the safety and reliability of the parcel handover to the correct addressee, we are introducing, with effect from 22 March 2022, the dispatch of the parcel after verification by password or identity document of the recipient.
Thanks to verification with a password, we can ensure:
✔️ that you are always guaranteed that your parcel will arrive in the right hands
✔️ that there will never be any mix-up of recipients or even possible theft of the parcel
✔️ that our drivers have definite confirmation that they have delivered the parcel to the recipient
What will the password look like?
The password for the parcel dispatch will consist of 7 digits and only numbers, always with the number 1 at the beginning, e.g., 1654321.
Parcel Recipient Verification Options:
Using a password
The moment the driver collects the parcel for shipping to the destination address, the customer receives the password via SMS message. This makes it easy for the customer to forward the password for example to a family member who will be at home when the parcel is delivered.
It is good to know that…
For safety reasons, our driver will not know the password for the parcel dispatch, only the recipient of the parcel will receive it. After entering the password, our distribution application will evaluate the password as correct or incorrect. In the case of a correct password, it will allow the driver to collect any cash on delivery amount or dispatch the parcel directly if cash on delivery is not applied.
Using an identity document
In case the recipient does not have the password with him/her at the time of delivery (e.g., forgets phone), the driver can carry out the verification using an identity document. If the recipient forwards the message with the password to another person, that person will show his/her ID.
Important information:
The driver enters the last four numbers of the ID into the distribution application when verifying the customer by ID. This record will be saved for 30 days and then deleted from our systems in accordance with GDPR regulations.
Great news: The driver has the option to leave the parcel at for example the reception of an office building – he/she agrees with the recipient and chooses a different method of delivery in the application and adds a note saying where and with whom the parcel was left.
