Sweden, Finland, Denmark: Change in the calculation of volumetric weight for the carrier PostNord

if you send parcels with us via PostNord, please pay attention to the following information.
When determining transportation prices, PostNord uses so-called volumetric weight, which is used to recalculate the shipment weight. In accordance with the carrier’s rules, the shipment is always invoiced based on the higher value – either the actual weight or the volumetric weight.
The carrier has now changed the method used to calculate volumetric weight.
New volumetric weight calculation:
(width × length × height) × 280 = volumetric weight
The parcel dimensions in the formula are stated in meters.
Example:
A shipment with an actual weight of 5 kg and dimensions of 30 × 30 × 40 cm has a volumetric weight of 10,08 kg = (0,3 × 0,3 × 0,4) × 280.
In this case, the shipment will be invoiced based on the volumetric weight of 10,08 kg, as it is higher than the actual weight.
Since when is this valid?
We will reflect this change in our processes with effect from May 18, 2026.
Starting on this date, we will recalculate the volumetric weight of PostNord shipments using the new formula.
The delivery price list itself remains unchanged.
